BSA626/625- Character Creation
We started to create designs for our 3D character. I came into this class with a story, character and design in mind so I have been working on that.
This is the initial sketch for Naomi. It took me a few hours to figure out the style I wanted to go with. When I first drew the bases, they were shorter, since that is how i usually draw my characters, but I wanted her taller and leaner to I just adjusted it a wee bit.
I really liked this colour palate, it was the one I have been thinking of going with for a while.
After talking with Rachel, I have decided to go with a parkour animation where Naomi is running late for work and must take an alternate path to work due to the busy streets.
I am going to write out my treatment and draw up some quick thumbnails of key scenes, then it will be ready to create an animatic for next week.
I did originally plan to do one continuous shot, but it would be more efficient to split the shots and make some quick and snappy, some full body but others close up. I will have to play around and see what shot dynamics look best in order to create a fast-paced animation.
I am going to do some research on parkour used in YouTube videos, films and animation to see how they are edited and what I can take away from it.
By the end of this week I will have a blog post about my treatment, character Bio and Backstory and some research.
