BSA625/626- Week One

I am pretty excited for 3D animation. I already have my story idea and one character design.

This semester I plan to put a lot of background work into 3D to hopefully balance out the time between Course and work. Before coming into this class I have my story thought out, although I may have to simplify it because of the amount of 3D modeling I will have to do.

I will get the 3D software that I can get through Autodesk to create the basics at home. This will help with my organisations.

I have created a full turnaround for the main character, although it is still in the sketching stage, I need to put it onto a bigger page so that my line work is nicer, it is currently on a 1080x720, so I will put it onto an A3 size I think.

I am going to create a lot of concept art for the backgrounds so that when I get into creating the backgrounds I will have my compositions and lighting ready to put on it.
These concept arts for the backgrounds will go into my proposal and I can't wait to get into creating them.

Today we went through the assessments, I think that if I can stay on top of everything I will be able to get through this class reasonably easily.

I have to make sure that my lighting is good, because I don't want to hand in something that is to bright or dark.

For this blog I aim to write at least four decent blogs every week, one for class and one for work I have done at home and two for any research I do.

We opened up Maya and started learning the interface and what we can do within the programme. Maya is incredibly complex and has more menus than we will ever use. We learn't the basics, I will have to continuously use them all in order to ingrain them into my mind and make it more efficient to use.

For the most part we will be using the Modeling interface in Maya. 'Maya loves menus' -Rachel Mann, 12/02/2020.

We use Arnold in Maya. The shelves we use the most are, Polygons, Sculpting, Rigging and Arnold.

Alt + mouse buttons is used for moving the camera.
Q= Select
W=Move
E=Rotate

T=Slider Menu

I really want to get on with creating my proposal and full character boards.
